New Lens!!!

Bought my first Canon L-series lens and it's a beast! But, it's beautiful and I am in LOVE! I ordered the 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM lens. Shot about 200 pictures today and I am amazed at the clarity and bokeh. This lens is so well built I will have it forever. The zoom is perfect for pretty much every shot I'll need so I'll get my money's worth in no time. Here's a shot of Kyle I took today. Notice the bokeh (blurry background).

This was my first official maternity shoot. It was fun and my models were perfect!!! Maternity pictures make a wonderful keepsake for both parents and baby.

I have done these pictures with my kids for the last few years and always get many compliments. These shots make great Christmas cards and gifts too!

Brian is two and will keep you on your toes!! He moves fast so thank God I have a lens that is too!

Hello and welcome!!!

My name is Amy Shahenian. I have recently decided to turn my love for photography from a hobby into a profession. After years of taking my own 3 children to mall and retail photography studios, I was frustrated with the same old posed, stale looks on their faces. Upon a recommendation from a friend, I had their pictures taken by a photographer in a different setting and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and, most importantly, the FACT that my kids FINALLY looked like MY kids!!! They looked happy and they looked like themselves. I began pursuing my own business of offering the same candid, fun photography experience to parents who want something different.

My studio is set up in my home. I have three different backgrounds and use natural light. I use all Canon professional cameras and lenses to provide top quality results. On location appointments also available.

Photography sessions last approximately an hour. Unlimited outfit/prop changes are allowed. Plain, non character clothing is recommended. Your fee includes your session where I will take about a hundred shots. I will select and edit/crop/retouch the best poses and provide them to you in full resolution on a disc. I will have you sign a simple waiver that will allow you print your pictures at your leisure with no copyright issues, and allow me to use your pictures in my portfolio or for any advertising.

This site is temporary until I can fully develop my official website. In the mean time, I wanted a place where I could display some of my work for prospective clients.
